A kettle bell is a traditional Russian training implement that has been used since the 1700’s to develop full body conditioning and fitness. A kettle bell looks like a cannon ball with a handle. The shape of the kettle bell allows for unique positioning of the weight directly above your centre of mass (unlike a Dumbbell or Barbell which must be held in front of the body) and allows you to keep your hand and wrists in neutral alignment, which enable for greater endurance and longevity in the core lifts so that you can produce a much higher volume of exercise and thus greater conditioning and fitness.
At Flux we cater for all fitness needs and goals with the use of Kettlebell Sport and conditioning principles. We work hard at ensuring the standards of training are conformed to the highest global standards. Our coaching and teaching will ensure your goals are achieved. Find out how we can make a difference for you.

Whole Body EMS training WITH BODYTEC

What it is

EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) mimics the natural action of our central nervous system, sending electrical impulses to contract our deep muscle fibres. In just a 20 minute training session, your personal trainer will put you through a customised 1 on 1 program – giving your body over 150 times more muscle contractions than a conventional workout.

Strength & Endurance

High performance is only possible if there is sufficient muscular stability. Deep, stabilizing muscles are difficult to reach with conventional methods. This is precisely where MiHa BodyTec – with the simultaneous activation of the entire musculature – makes it possible to train highly effectively, while saving time

The figure you want

The musculature is built up, excessive fat is converted into energy and successfully reduced – an effect that continues for hours after the training! The results are visible: effective and sustained body contouring from the build-up of fat-free muscle mass with the simultaneous reduction of excessive body fat.

About Electro Muscle Stimulation

EMS stands for "Electro Muscular Stimulation". From a technical point of view, it is a full body training exercise using impulse current. In everyday life our central nervous system constantly sends electrical impulses to control our muscle action. EMS uses this natural principle and is able to intensify this process to reach deeper muscle layers, which are hard to activate through conventional training. This is achieved by applying EMS electrodes to the skin directly above the muscle. All in all you can call EMS simply a selective intensification of electrical stimuli from the outside. You gain the best results if you work out actively while using our EMS device. Muscles are additionally stimulated through the electrodes while doing a series of exercises. This combined training leads to an additional increase of tension producing highly effective training results. Your personal trainer can control each muscle group by adjusting the training intensity according to your individual goals. With EMS you achieve visible and tangible success in a very short time.
Nowadays "losing weight" and "getting slim", which is weight and fat diminution, is usually tackled with the mainly one-sided approach of calorie restricted diets. In desperation diets which restrict calorie intake and reduce nutrients are often adopted. This often leads to a short-term weight-loss - often at the expense of muscle formation. The combination of wrong nutrition, lack of exercise or exaggerated endurance training leads to "undesirable developments in the body metabolism". When the body feels deprived – or that it is running in "deficient mode" it is genetically programmed to hold onto the fat stores in order to still have sufficient reserve strength and energy in an emergency. This often creates what's known as the "yo-yo" affect … after the diet is finished the base metabolic rate is actually slower and there has been no increase in muscle tissue so when calorie intake returns to normal it results in stored fat again. When using a high increase in endurance type training to lose weight, again the body is left with a deficient nutrient level, an excessive calorie burn but with no supporting muscle tissue development to increase and maintain metabolic base. Often the muscle mass is actually decreased with the increase in endurance training and so the basal metabolism is decreased. An effective and continuous reduction of weight and body fat is possible with MiHa BodyTec by the construction of a fat-free muscle mass. There is high metabolic activity during the sessions and it lasts for hours after the EMS training. The result is a high calorie burn during the sessions, but also an increase in muscle tissue which increases the Base Metabolic rate long term. The increase in muscle whilst losing body fat also creates a body shape change. Obviously all body changes require a healthy nutrient-dense diet in order to lose and sustain the changed body shape. While losing both weight and body fat with BodyTec training – it must also be noted that centimetres are also lost – particularly in the problem zones: Waist, hip and thigh. A tightening of chest and arms is also achieved.
Performance and sport: BodyTec EMS is the perfect backup for athletes: The EMS training device in combination with conventional sport specific training quickly leads to a new level of power and high-speed performance. This training is especially interesting for athletes whose choice in sport is governed by speed.
Muscle formation and definition: BodyTec EMS uses electro muscle stimulation to achieve stronger and more intense muscle contractions than a voluntary exertion can achieve alone. Depending on intensity and individual goals, you can build muscles and achieve better definition while also making them stronger and more responsive – your muscles simply become more efficient.
Strength and training: With EMS training you gain strength in a shorter period of time. Individual adjustment of intensity, duration and frequency helps achieve personal training goals quickly, effectively and consistently – no matter whether it’s increasing maximum strength or improving endurance and overall fitness levels. Often sport training is time consuming – MiHa BodyTec EMS training allows for effective intense full body training within a 20-30 minute time frame.
Wellbeing: EMS training has a therapeutic effect as it promotes a feeling of physical and mental wellbeing.
Pain reduction: Back pain is the most common ailment among the general population. One of the main causes is muscular imbalance in the torso is caused by poor posture, lack of core strength and a sedentary lifestyle. EMS training targets and strengthens the deeper layers of the torso muscle group which helps alleviate back pain as these deep muscles are difficult to activate with conventional methods.
Rehabilitation and mobility: After injury or an operation, your muscle volume and strength decreases. Training with EMS provides optimal support when it comes to gently rebuilding a specific muscle or muscle groups. All exercises can be performed in either a horizontal or a standing position.
Incontinence: Bladder weakness is a common and embarrassing condition. EMS training can prevent and relieve incontinence by strengthening the pelvic floor muscles after just a few sessions. EMS training is especially beneficial for women suffering from post-pregnancy bladder weakness.
Electric stimulation training takes place in high intensity areas. During EMS training with BodyTec EMS, 90% of all muscles between two electrodes are activated simultaneously with EACH contraction cycle. In addition, the muscle contractions are stronger and more intense than a voluntary exertion can do alone. Also the deeper muscles are being activated which leads to better intra- and inter muscular coordination. Based on these scientifically proven facts, you achieve highly effective results in a short period of time. Considering the contraction time and -intensity for the trained muscles, the effect of up to 20 minutes training with MiHa BodyTec is comparable to several hours of conventional weight training, which in turn means quickly visible and tangible results.
Most people can use EMS training but if you have a health condition which prevents you from participating in conventional sport then you must definitely get approval from your doctor. The absolute contraindications are:
  • Heart pacemaker
  • Pregnancy
  • Severe circulatory disorder & arterial circulatory disorder
  • Abdominal wall or inguinal hernia
  • Tuberculosis
  • Tumour diseases
  • Arteriosclerosis in advanced stadium
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Severe neurological illnesses (epilepsy, multiple sclerosis)
  • Fever, acute bacterial or viral infections
  • Bleedings (haemorrhages) & heavy bleeding tendency (haemophilia)
If you suffer from any of the above conditions please consult your doctor to obtain medical approval before starting with EMS training.

Wellness Screen DNA test

What is it?

A multi-gene DNA test routinely added to assessment of blood cholesterol and glucose levels, blood pressure and body mass index (BMI) as part of Wellness Programs offered by healthcare practitioners.

It includes analysis of variation in clinically useful genes that may contribute to abnormal cholesterol levels, homocysteine accumulation, blood clotting, iron overload and inflamamtion. Some of these abnormalities contribute to the development of type II diabetes, obesity and hypertension. Oxidative stress, detoxification or carcinogens and oestrogen exposure are also important considerations in this context.

This pathology supported genetic test is performed in conjunction with assessment of any food allergy or intolerences known to be associated with many chronic disorders. The results of the genetic test are combined with clinical indicators and lifestyle factors to identifgy a combination of risk factors that may lead to disease development or progression, if left untreated.

When do we recommend it?

For individuals that show feautures of having metabolic syndrome, characterised by three or more of the following clinical conditions: central obesity, hypertension, glucose intolerence and dyslipidaemia. Also for those people looking to be proactive about health and lifestyle.

This genetic service is an extension of standard health checks such as cholesterol and glucose testing. The aim is to determine the most likely cause of possible abnormal blood levels and at the same time identify genetic determinants of response to environmental exposures such as diet and use of medication that may also affect health outcomes in future. This information is summarised in a comprehensive report provided to guide risk reduction intervention from the genetic background.

Completion of the Medical History and Lifestyle Questionnaire when this test is requested or considered might furthermore highlight the presence of clinical conditions or metabolic indicators linked to the development of chronic disorders of lifestyle or a family history of a monogenic disease that may require further genetic counselling or testing. The Wellness GeneScreen may therefore be considered as a screening step for extended clinical work-up.

Diagnosis: Identification of risk factors that could cause or explain an existing medical condition or metabolic abnormality. Prevention: Early detection of faulty gene(s) in at-risk family members accompanied by appropriate treatment to prevent or reduce the risk of disease development. Prognosis: Identification of risk factors that may increase the recurrence risk or progression of a medical condition. Prediction: Evaluation of potential gene-gene and gene-environment interactions to prevent a cumulative effect or minimise potential mismatches which may lead to disease development or progression. Risk management: Monitoring of response to medical treatment and lifestyle modification.
From this we are able to advise on: *** persons particular Eating or Dietary requirements (specifically for them rather than generic).
*** Advise on exercise requirement in order to maintain health and weight.
*** What aspects of their health going forward can be positively influenced by environmental factors.
